HOW IT WORKS:
Each tag has its own unique ID, like a nickname your phone recognizes.
If you follow the instructions in the package, when your phone taps the tag, it knows exactly which automation to run. You’re simply telling your phone:
“When I tap this tag, do this.”
No app searching.
No remembering.
No “I’ll do it in a second.”
You tap. Your phone handles it, based on what you told it to do.
Each kit includes 20 Smart Tags stored in a sexy clear acrylic case. It's giving an AirPods-vibe.
The Smart Tags come in a clear acrylic snap case that:
keeps everything organized
is easy to spot in a junk drawer or on a messy desk
snaps shut to keep your tags safe until your next automation idea strikes
Each tag is 30mm in diameter — about 25% larger than a quarter — making them easy to scan with your device.
Shelpful Smart Tags are passive, meaning they don’t require a battery. When your phone gets close, it briefly powers the tag using a small electromagnetic field.
NXP NTAG215
The "insides" of each Shelpful Smart Tag. We chose this chip because it’s reliable, widely supported by automation apps (including Apple Shortcuts), and manufactured by NXP — a global leader in NFC technology used in contactless systems like transit cards, hotel keys, and payment cards.
NFC Forum Type 2 Tag
Compliant with ISO 14443-3A (NFC Type A), one of the most widely supported NFC standards. This ensures compatibility with modern smartphones and NFC automation tools.
540 bytes usable memory
(135 pages × 4 bytes)
Each Shelpful Smart Tag contains a permanently programmed unique identifier, allowing your device to distinguish between different tags and run different automations.
Tags can be programmed and reprogrammed as many times as you'd like.
30mm diameter
About 25% larger than a U.S. quarter, making tags easier to scan.
